Hello minecrafters!

Looking for a change? Here’s how to change your minecraft character skin in offline mode! It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3! :)

Step 1: Download or create your own minecraft skin and Save it into your computer (You can save it in your desktop because we will move this into another directory)

  • You can download different minecraft skins by different minecrafters in this link.
  • You can create your own skin using a pattern, click here to open the character image and then click ‘Save image as…’.
  • You can also create your own skin using different Minecraft Skin Editors. Click here to see list of editors.

Step 2: Open your Start Menu and type ‘%appdata%’ in the search box. Press Enter.

Step 3: Open ‘.minecraft’ directory

Step 4: Double click ‘bin’ and then open ‘minecraft.jar’ with WinRAR archiever.

Step 5: In the WinRAR window, double click ‘mobs’ folder and copy the image of the skin (char.png) inside it.

**Make sure that your Minecraft application is not running to be able to copy the image!

Step 6: Open your Minecraft application, Press F5 and there you go! You now look different!

Here’s a sample of what my character look like! Altair from Assassin’s Creed!

My skin was in the wrong format so I tried to resize it in paint. But when it saved, all of the transparent spaces were turned white. So I have a white head lol! To fix this resize your skin image with paint.NET or an image editor that supports transparency.

ok I can follow everything except that I cannot properly put the image in. I pressed paste, a window poped up asking for configuration, and after that a Link instead of a PNG got in. And, does this still work in 1.8 ?

Ah I figured it out, sorry guys. I was copying from a shortcut in the first place -_-

  37. Adhi
